Why I Rarely Choose What Everyone Else Is Choosing
I’ve never been comfortable choosing something just because it’s trending.
Not in design, not in life.
Trends are everywhere — scroll for a few minutes and you’ll start seeing the same colors, the same finishes, the same “safe” choices repeated again and again. And while they look good for a moment, they rarely stay meaningful.
For me, design has never been about fitting in. It’s about creating something that feels honest.
When I work on a space, I’m not thinking about what’s popular right now. I’m thinking about what will still feel right years later. Sometimes that means choosing something subtle over something flashy. Sometimes it means doing less when everything around suggests doing more.
Even in daily life, I’ve always believed that your choices should reflect you — not the noise around you. Because the moment everything starts looking the same, it loses its value.
Being different doesn’t always mean being bold or dramatic.
Sometimes it’s just about being intentional.
And that intention is what quietly sets everything apart.
