Why Some Spaces Feel “Done” Too Early
There’s a strange thing I’ve noticed in many interiors.
They look complete…
but they don’t feel complete.
Everything is in place.
The styling is perfect.
The palette is resolved.
And yet, the space feels like it has nothing more to say.
Almost like it has reached its final version too soon.
The problem isn’t in what’s added.
It’s in what’s finished too early.
Good spaces, I believe, should have a sense of continuation.
A feeling that they can still evolve with you.
A chair that looks better with time.
A corner that slowly finds its purpose.
A wall that doesn’t demand to be fully defined from day one.
When everything is overly decided,
the space stops responding to life.
It becomes static.
But when a space holds a little openness
when not every layer is closed —
it leaves room for change.
And that’s where it starts feeling real.
Because no one lives in a final version of their life.
Why should their space feel like one?
To me, a good interior is not something that looks “done.”
It’s something that feels like it’s still becoming.
