Why I Prefer Curves Over Corners in a Space

I’ve always found corners a little too rigid.

They define a space clearly, but sometimes a bit too strictly. Straight lines, sharp edges — they create structure, but not always comfort. And when a space starts to feel too defined, it often loses its softness.

That’s why I naturally lean towards curves.

A curved edge, even in the smallest detail, changes how a space is experienced. Movement feels smoother. The eye doesn’t stop abruptly — it flows. And without realizing it, the space begins to feel more relaxed, more inviting.

This doesn’t mean everything has to be round or dramatic. Sometimes it’s just a soft curve in a piece of furniture, an arched opening, or even the way a pathway is designed. These subtle shifts make a noticeable difference.

Corners create boundaries.
Curves create continuity.

In homes where we’re constantly moving, pausing, and living through different moments, that continuity matters. It makes the space feel less constructed and more natural.

For me, it’s never about following a style.
It’s about choosing what feels better to live with — every single day.
