Why My Team Is Not Just a Team
People often assume that a design studio runs on ideas.
But in reality, it runs on people who are willing to care about those ideas as much as you do.
For me, my team has never been just about roles or responsibilities. It’s not just who handles drawings, who manages sites, or who presents to clients.
It’s about how we think together.
Every project we take on carries a certain sensitivity to space, to people, to the way something will be lived in. And that sensitivity cannot come from one person alone. It has to be shared.
Over time, we’ve built something that goes beyond coordination.
There’s trust in questioning each other.
There’s openness in not always having the final answer.
There’s respect for different perspectives, even when they challenge the initial idea.
Because good design is rarely a straight line.
Sometimes the best decisions come from conversations that weren’t planned. From observations someone else noticed. From a pause where we choose to rethink instead of rushing forward.
And that only happens when a team feels involved not instructed.
I don’t see my team as people who execute a vision.
They are people who shape it with me.
And that shift changes everything.
Because in the end, what we create is not just a reflection of one voice —
it becomes a collective understanding of what the space truly needs.
